Land Description
This Central Georgia growing & packing operation consists of 7 parcels of land, a 94,000± square foot atmospherically controlled produce packing facility, and a 13,350 square foot shop/equipment shed. The land includes 7.5± acres which contains the packing house plus 672.5± acres, consisting of 567± farmable acres, 89± wooded acres and 24± acres in irrigation ponds. There are 15 pivots, 11 ponds and two 8 inch, deep wells with electric motors used to irrigate the farmland. Historically, the operation has primarily grown and packed Vidalia onions, with watermelon, corn, cabbage and sweet potatoes grown and packed on a seasonal and rotational basis.
Tract 3 - Packing House - The packing house was originally built in 1995 and has been expanded and upgraded since inception, including 20,000± square feet of atmospherically controlled coolers added in 1998 and the addition of a 7,200 square foot hydro cooling room completed in 2015. The facility features a 1,200 square foot o ce, restroom facilities for the production workers and an ice-house with a production rate of 20 tons per two hours.
Tract 9 - Packing Equipment - Tract 9 includes a variety of packing equipment for onions and sweet potatoes including driers, conveyors, elevators, sizers, and miscellaneous other items. Production capacity for the facility is 200,000 bushels of onions, 215,000 bushels of sweet potatoes, 400,000 crates of sweet corn or 16 million pounds of watermelons.
